Each of the five participating Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs) are developing new initiatives or expanding existing ones with direct support and funding from Tourism Alive. The CVBs participating in this program are:

Chicago Southland
promoted and supported the Windy City Thunderbolts 2023 Frontier League All-Star Game and Skills Challenge in July 2023, generating increased awareness of the Southland area and delivering significant economic impact to its communities, winning the 2023 Economic Impact in Sports Tourism Award from Sports Destination Management.
Meet Chicago Northwest
tapped into the increased popularity of golf, putting together a multi-media golf campaign showcasing year-round golf attractions and award-winning golf courses. Targeting golfers across Southern Wisconsin and Chicagoland, the campaign brought in over 4,000 golfers and contributed to an increase of $1.8 million in hotel room revenue in July and August 2023.
Chicago’s North Shore
has been able to revive its group tour marketing efforts through expanded outreach, updated itineraries, and a proactive customer service program, resulting in an immediate increase in in bookings during its first year of activation.
Rosemont CVB
is investing in new partnerships with trade associations, working with influencers to drive trade show attendance, and developing new strategies for marketing its dining, shopping and entertainment assets.
Visit Oak Park
is leveraging the resources to create a new domestic group tour strategy for the area, developing new Black History tours and investing in updated data and analytics on short-term rentals.
